1 March - The Royal Opening of The Silo Hotel

4 March - Veuve Cliquot Masters Polo

​4 March – Huawei K Day

Huawei K Day brings ten of South Africa’s hottest artists together on one stage. The line-up includes Sketchy Bongo, Jimmy Nevis, Matthew Mole, Euphonik and other big names in the SA music scene. The concert takes place at the picturesque Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville. Tickets cost between R120-280 and can be purchased here.

​4 March – Paarl Ommiberg ‘Round the Rock’ Festival

The Paarl Wine Route celebrates the 2017 harvest with the 10th annual Ommiberg ‘Round the Rock’ Festival. The festival offers an opportunity to participate in the harvest in the bucolic Paarl wine region. Also on offer are exciting harvest activities, which give visitors a peek into the fascinating world of wine making.  Tickets are R120 for adults, or R150 on the day. ​4 March – White Wines on Tap

Famous for the annual Pinotage on Tap festival, Diemersfontein wine and country estate hosts their second annual White Wines on Tap event this March. On offer are an abundance of white wines served from the barrel, as well as live music by Loren Erasmus and delightful food from outside vendors. Enjoy a relaxing day on this gorgeous country estate, complete with fresh and crisp white wines from the tap. Tickets are R150 at Computicket.

4 March – The Grand White

The Grand White is an exclusive social event, made the more mysterious and exciting by the fact that the venue is kept top secret until the morning of the event. The goal of the Grand White is purely social, and guests dress up in all white with just a touch of green to partake in delicious food, live entertainment, and the pleasure of one another’s company. 5 March – Eikendal Weintaufe Harvest Carnival

The Stellenbosch winelands are alive with bountiful produce this time of year. Make the most of harvest time by indulging in exceptional wine, scrumptious street-style fare, games, lucky draws and live music at the Eikendal Weintaufe Harvest Carnival. This year Eikendal showcases their 2017 chardonnay, starting with the official christening and tasting of this delicious wine at the Harvest Carnival. ​11 March – Vrede En Lust Harvest Festival

This stunning estate in the shadow of Simonsberg Mountain celebrates the 2017 harvest with their very own Harvest Festival. 12 March – Cape Town Cycle Tour

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is the world’s largest timed cycling event, and it celebrates its 40th year this March. The 109-km route takes cyclists and spectators on a tour of some of the most beautiful scenery in the Western Cape. The tour starts and finishes in Cape Town, and winds through Constantia, Muizenberg, Simon’s Town, Noordhoek, and Camps Bay, among other areas. Find additional information here.

12 March – Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert series hosts their 11th Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music festival this year. Let the fresh and folksy sounds of the spectacular line-up of South African artists wash over you as you take in the singular beauty of the Kirstenbosch gardens. ​18 March – Cape Town Carnival

The Cape Town Carnival is a glamorous celebration of the transformative power of creativity and our African identity with its diverse array of communities and cultures. This year’s theme is AMAZA! ~ Ocean Odyssey. Dress up and get out your dancing shoes to participate in one of the year’s most anticipated events! The Carnival takes place in Green Point, with over 2 000 performers and musicians entertaining partygoers along Cape Town’s Fan Walk. Cape Town Carnival is free! 19-26 March – Absa Cape Epic

This thrilling 8-day staged cycle race offers a beautiful and challenging course for it’s 14th year running. Mountain bikers from around the world travel through 691 km of scenic territory in the Western Cape, and average 15 400m of elevation gain. The Absa Cape Epic starts at the Meerendal Wine Estate and finishes at Val de Vie in Paarl. On the course riders pass through Hermanus, Greyton and Elgin. Find more information here.

25/26 March – Stellenbosch Vineyards Pizza & Wine Festival

The second edition of the Stellenbosch Vineyards Pizza & Wine Festival is a winning combination of two of our favorite things. The festival is held on the historic Welmoed Wine Farm, where guests can enjoy scrumptious food and wine, along with live entertainment and activities for the kiddies. 31 March & 1 April – Cape Town International Jazz Festival

The 18th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival has a talent-packed lineup you won’t want to miss. The jazz fest is the largest music event in sub-Saharan Africa, and was voted one of the best festivals in the world in 2016. Music lovers can find tickets here and more information here.
