It's a question that we often get asked "What exactly do we do at BACK IN TOWN?" So we decided to show you! We recently hosted a fabulous and exclusive dinner party at one of our favourite Villas in Cape Town, Hamilton House, a beautiful 7-bedroom villa in the affluent, wind protected area of Fresnaye, on the Atlantic Seaboard. We arranged this evening to showcase a small aspect of what we do and to create a platform where we could meet our guests and have the opportunity for them to get to know us better and experience first hand the type of service standards we consistently provide to our clients.

Villa rentals in Cape Town are particularly popular with families and small groups. The most regular request we get from these guests is for us to arrange a Private Chef, to cook for them in the comfort of their villa. This might be for breakfast daily, a South African styled braai (barbeque), dinner or a special occasion. When we arrange any sort of private catering, there is only one company that we turn to, our great friends at Raw Catering Co. They provide us with a start to finish service that meets our extremely high standards every time! Not only are their chefs extremely qualified and talented in the kitchen, but are great with guests too and take the time to chat directly with our clients to ensure they prepare meals each and every guest will love. They take note of all dietary requirements and happily prepare alternatives for these. And on top of all of that, they will leave your kitchen spotless once they are done.
Another reason we love using Raw Catering Co. for private events and small intimate dinners, is not only do they provide great food, but also have a Hospitality Manager available and on site throughout the event to ensure the smooth running of service and uphold standards.

Raw Catering Co. were with us on the evening of our Villa Dinner at Hamilton House and prepared a delicious 5 course menu, paired with exceptional wines from one of our favourite local wine farms, Avontuur Wine Estate. Their Luna de Miel, Chardonnay Reserve was an all round favourite on the evening with it's unique structure and full bodied, lingering flavour.

Avontuur Estate is located on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, just 30 minutes from Cape Town, not only are their wines fantastic, but their restaurant is well worth a visit, we unexpectedly had possibly the best calamari dish that we've ever had. Avontuur is also one of the top  thoroughbred stud farm in South Africa.

We had set the table earlier in the evening in tones of white, silver and a touch of green, made sure that the music was playing correctly, set the lighting and double checked that everything was perfect before our guests arrived. We welcomed guests with a refreshing glass of Avontuur Brut MCC (Methode Cap Classique) which everyone enjoyed by the fire whilst getting to know each other.

The smells from the kitchen were beginning to make all our stomachs rumble just as we seated everyone in the beautiful formal dining room and it was now time for Raw Catering Co. to shine!

The whole evening went smoothly, with fantastic food, perfect wine pairings, great company and conversations. Our guests were so delighted with the service, food and atmosphere.
