5th March - Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo 2016

5th March - French Sunset Picnic in Hout Bay

After its inaugural event in 2014, the frenchSUNSET pop-up picnic is back on Saturday, 5 March 2016 at the Glenellen Farm in Hout. FrenchSUNSET is way beyond your run of the mill picnic. Imagine an escape to Paris without boarding a plane. 6th March - The Cape Town Cycle Tour

Previously known, as the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, the largest individually timed cycle race in the world. This annual event, hosted in Cape Town is back and hopefully will be its usual 109km as last year it was drastically shortened to 47km due to devastating fires across the Cape Peninsula. This is an exciting event for cyclists and spectators alike, where all feel vast encouragement, determination and achievement. 7th March - Paarl OmmiBerg Round the Rock Harvest Festival

​Harvest season is upon us. Each participating farm (14) will host special harvest activities, with the focus on the young wines of this year's harvest.  Early bird tickets for over 18s are priced at R120 online or R150 on the day at participating estates (limited number available).  The ticket price includes access to 14 participating wineries offering tastings of unfiltered and filtered young wine, live music and selected events.  It is wise to pre-book sit-down meals and special activities as they are payable separately and space is limited. 12-13th March - Stellenbosch Vineyards Pizza and Wine Fest

​This year sees the inaugural Stellenbosch Vineyards Pizza & Wine Festival where you will be able to enjoy a selection of superb wines paired with mouth-watering pizzas and live music. A first of its kind in the Stellenbosch winelands, the festival will take place on our picturesque Welmoed Farm, on 12 and 13 March 2016.  Tickets cost R120 per person and include entry, a tasting glass, tasting coupons and live entertainment. 12th March - Cape Town Carnival

The theme for this year's carnival is #StreetLife and highlights how every person in our society has a street that they can call home within a vast ranging city. The Fan Walk is lined with bars, restaurants, cafes and fast food outlets. Dress comfortably in your “dancing shoes” as the Fan Walk is 2 km long and there will be many things to explore. You can support the local food and bar vendors along the parade route. Above all else, make sure you are wearing your own unique dazzling Cape Town Carnival mask – after all, the Cape Town Carnival is an invitation to create and participate. 13th - 20th March - ABSA Cape Epic 

​The world’s premier mountain bike stage race returns to the iconic slopes of Table Mountain on March 13 for the 21km Prologue, which again starts and finishes at the University of Cape Town. Weaving its way through the Western Cape with stops like Tulbach, Wellington, Welvanpas, Stellenbosch and Durbanville, leaving those to cross the line to earn the well-deserved status of Absa Cape Epic finisher. 18th March - Lionel Richie live at the Cape Town Stadium

19th-20th March - Cape Town Sixes Cricket & Cultural Fest

This is most exciting amateur 6’s cricket event in the world. Set in the awe inspiring city of Cape Town, at Green Point Cricket Club, in one of the worlds biggest cricketing nations, this festival takes sporting events to new heights by combining sport, music, food and social development (CSR) - in the townships of the Western Cape. Team registration opens at 5pm on 18th March at the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel. 20th March - Zebra and Giraffe / Monark at Kirstenbosch

Zebra & Giraffe have headlined all of South Africa’s major festivals, toured the length and breadth of the country and supported international acts The Killers, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Sum41, Prodigy and Panic at the Disco.
Monark are changing the face of pop music in South Africa. Having dominated the South African airwaves with various number 1 singles on commercial radio, Monark released their debut album, "Negatives", which peaked at number 1 on the iTunes Album Chart on its release day.

25th - 26th March - Two Oceans Marathon

​The Two Oceans Marathon is a 56km / 35-mile ultramarathon and 21km half-marathon held annually in Cape Town, South Africa on the Saturday of the Easter weekend. Known globally as "the world's most beautiful marathon", the race is run against a backdrop of spectacular scenery through the Cape Peninsula.

27th March - Beatenberg / John Wizard at Kirstenbosch

Beatenberg is a fresh new face in pop music from Cape Town. The group is showing that it is possible to make music on one’s own terms, whilst simultaneously achieving great success. This year they won six SAMA awards including the award for Best Pop Album, Group of the Year and Album of the Year. This year has seen Beatenberg touring extensively both locally and internationally.
John Wizards is a South African band from Cape Town. Formed in 2010 by musician and the mainstay of the band John Wizards. Described as a mix of R&B, Soukous, Afropop, Reggae, House, Shangaan Electro and Dub, the bands self-titled first album was released in September 2013. They have subsequently spent the past year touring and playing at major European festivals such as Glastonbury and Primevera. Gates open at 16h00 and tickets cost R150 adults R110 under 18s.
