Known globally as "the world's most beautiful marathon", the race is run against a backdrop of spectacular scenery through the Cape Peninsula. 27th March - Beatenberg / John Wizard at KirstenboschBeatenberg is a fresh new face in pop music from Cape Town. The group is showing that it is possible to make music on one’s own terms, whilst simultaneously achieving great success. This year they won six SAMA awards including the award for Best Pop Album, Group of the Year and Album of the Year. This year has seen Beatenberg touring extensively both locally and internationally.
John Wizards is a South African band from Cape Town. Formed in 2010 by musician and the mainstay of the band John Wizards. Described as a mix of R&B, Soukous, Afropop, Reggae, House, Shangaan Electro and Dub, the bands self-titled first album was released in September 2013. They have subsequently spent the past year touring and playing at major European festivals such as Glastonbury and Primevera. Gates open at 16h00 and tickets cost R150 adults R110 under 18s.
