France’s Champagne Houses will be represented by uber glam brands such as Piper Heidsieck, Champagne Guy Charbaut and Veuve Clicquot. Tickets cost R350 per person and include access to the festival, which is open daily between 12pm and 5pm, a complimentary tasting glass and tasting coupons. Beatenberg is a fresh new face in pop music from South Africa who will be performing at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the 4th December 2016. Celebrate the creativity in the Mother City and prepare yourself for some innovation at the 2016 edition of this Cape Town classic. 15-18 Dec - Carols by Candlelight - KirstenboschThis enormously popular event is, for more than 20 years being; the flagship project of The Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch, featuring the Cape Town Concert Brass and the Cape Town Male Voice Choir, and it is sponsored by Pick n Pay. It is a fun way to get in the mood for Christmas and it also raises funds for charities in and around Cape Town. The concert starts at 19h45, while gates to the concert area will only open at 18h00. Concert goers will however be allowed to enter the gardens on presentation of a concert ticket and enjoy the sites in the gardens. There is also pre-carols entertainment from around 18h30 to 19h45. The event ends approximately 21:30. 17 Dec - MCQP (Mother City Queer Party)The (queen) mother of pink parties saunters onto the Cape Town calendar and makes a royal entrance at the Zip Zap Circus Dome in Foreshore on Saturday, 17 December 2016. In short, the Mother City Queer Project, better known as MCQP, is set to celebrate with a bigger, better and queerer party than before! This year’s theme is ‘The Musical’ – is as massive as it is memorable and is billed as the biggest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) event in Africa. They stormed out of the gates with their record-breaking debut album in 2003, and have followed it up with a string of massive studio albums that have secured their place as the most successful rock act in South African history. Catch them at Kirstenbosch's open-air summer concert on the 26th Dec 2016.
