3 Dec - Wavescape Film Festival - Clifton 4th Beach

​Catch surf films on the beach at the largest open-air screening in Cape Town.
The annual Wavescape Festival is back in Cape Town with a mind blowing program on Saturday, 3 December 2016. A FREE Movie Night at Clifton 4th Beach. This epic film screening under the African sky is an open-air theatre experience – said to be the largest in the Mother City. Though, the film screening is only at 9pm, it’s best to arrive early to watch the sunset and secure a prime spot!

3-4 Dec - Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Fest

It’s time for the Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival ‘The Magic of Bubbles’, presented by Mastercard, which takes place over the weekend of 3 and 4 December at the iconic Huguenot Monument.  Celebrate summer in style by adding a dash of colour to this year’s theme which is Black and White with a Floral Flair.

Sit back and relax in the comfort of the grand marquee, which will be oozing style, elegance and sophistication, as you sip on one of the many local MCC’s and selection of France’s best Champagnes on offer. Local MCC producers at this year’s event include Pierre Jourdan, Morena, Môreson, La Motte, Boschendal, Colmant, Leopard’s Leap, Noble Hill, Plaisir de Merle, Anthonij Rupert Wyne, JC le Roux, Pongracz, Simonsig, Steenberg and Villiera. France’s Champagne Houses will be represented by uber glam brands such as Piper Heidsieck, Champagne Guy Charbaut and Veuve Clicquot.
Tickets cost R350 per person and include access to the festival, which is open daily between 12pm and 5pm, a complimentary tasting glass and tasting coupons. Additional vouchers can be purchased on the day. Children under 18 years will be allowed free entry to the festival.

4 Dec - Beatenberg - Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts

​The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are one of the best ways to spend your Sunday afternoon in Cape Town. 
Beatenberg is a fresh new face in pop music from South Africa who will be performing at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the 4th December 2016.

4 Dec - Adderly Street Festival of Lights

​Executive Mayor Patricia de Lille has announced that the inclusive launch of the holiday season will take place on the 4th December with a wonderful Festival of Lights celebration that everyone is invited to attend. This year’s theme is ‘Let’s get on with it Cape Town – City of Ideas’. Celebrate the creativity in the Mother City and prepare yourself for some innovation at the 2016 edition of this Cape Town classic.

15-18 Dec - Carols by Candlelight - Kirstenbosch

This enormously popular event is, for more than 20 years being; the flagship project of The Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch, featuring the Cape Town Concert Brass and the Cape Town Male Voice Choir, and it is sponsored by Pick n Pay. It is a fun way to get in the mood for Christmas and it also raises funds for charities in and around Cape Town.
The concert starts at 19h45, while gates to the concert area will only open at 18h00. Concert goers will however be allowed to enter the gardens on presentation of a concert ticket and enjoy the sites in the gardens. There is also pre-carols entertainment from around 18h30 to 19h45. The event ends approximately 21:30.

17 Dec - MCQP (Mother City Queer Party)

The (queen) mother of pink parties saunters onto the Cape Town calendar and makes a royal entrance at the Zip Zap Circus Dome in Foreshore on Saturday, 17 December 2016. In short, the Mother City Queer Project, better known as MCQP, is set to celebrate with a bigger, better and queerer party than before! This year’s theme is ‘The Musical’ – is as massive as it is memorable and is billed as the biggest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) event in Africa. 26 Dec - Prime Circle - Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts

Since they first burst out of the sleepy mining town of Witbank some 11 years ago, South African rock sensation Prime Circle has been unstoppable. They stormed out of the gates with their record-breaking debut album in 2003, and have followed it up with a string of massive studio albums that have secured their place as the most successful rock act in South African history.
Catch them at Kirstenbosch's open-air summer concert on the 26th Dec 2016. Tickets cost R165 for adults and can be purchased here.

31 Dec - Johnny Clegg & Slow Jack - Kirstenbosch

What better way to end off the year than with an evening picnic at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens with a handful of your favourite people, whilst watching Johnny Clegg and Slow Jack performing live infront of the greatest backdrop you could ask for, Table Mountain.
