The Cape Grace
Hotels are always vying for the best views in their location.
The Cape Grace which is situated at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront can most certainly boast about theirs. Surrounded by the water of the port of Cape Town and the backdrop of both Lions Head and the Table Mountain Nature Reserve.
As soon as you enter the foyer, The Cape Grace shows is grandeur. With a traditional look of dark hard woods, art adorned walls and thick carpets it exudes the luxuries of yesteryear, whilst giving the feeling of a modern luxury hotel with a twist of Cape culture. The interior when combined with the educational pieces on display throughout the hotel, create not just a fantastic atmosphere but an experience one does not associate with a hotel. The art work explains the story of discovery and landing in Cape Town, and shows off its proud heritage.
The Cape Grace is also home to one of the largest Whiskey collections in the Southern Hemisphere at 'Bascule Bar' with over 500 whiskeys to choose from. They also offer whiskey tastings and lessons if it something that you would like to learn more about, a better place than most with such a variety.
It doesn't stop there with outstanding features, the hotels Signal Restaurant shows off with its fine dining cuisine. Often creating pairing menus with local award winning wines. During the afternoon, high tea is served in the library, and this is a spectacle itself, with large tiered trays pilled with delectable delights, it certainly goes down very nicely.
