Going on safari, it’s special! There’s nothing else quite like it, looking at truly majestic animals living wild in their natural habitat. But they are also in danger from humans too due to poaching and other environmental factors. That’s why I love safari lodges like Dulini Leadwood lodge, because not only is it jaw-droppingly beautiful, they also care, deeply, for the well being of the animals that share their location with them.
When I lived in the UK, an hour drive was a pretty long way. When I worked on yachts, my opinion on travel length times changed dramatically, when you sail across an ocean for 2 weeks without seeing another boat let alone land. But now that I’ve settled back in Cape Town, driving for 2 hours is neither here nor there. It’s such a vast and diverse place that if you place a circle around Cape Town with a two hour drive distance you could be in hugely different places, on long white sand beaches or in the middle of a mountain range with nothing but a sea of green.
3 Dec - Wavescape Film Festival - Clifton 4th BeachCatch surf films on the beach at the largest open-air screening in Cape Town.
The annual Wavescape Festival is back in Cape Town with a mind blowing program on Saturday, 3 December 2016. A FREE Movie Night at Clifton 4th Beach. This epic film screening under the African sky is an open-air theatre experience – said to be the largest in the Mother City. Though, the film screening is only at 9pm, it’s best to arrive early to watch the sunset and secure a prime spot! Knysna…not as widely known to foreigners as Cape Town, but it should be! Well that’s my opinion anyway. I visited for the first time, whilst we were on our huge 2-week road trip around South Africa (more about this still to follow). Whilst it was my first visit, Sarah has been to Knysna on many occasions, and it is a place filled with happy memories.
