A weekend break? Your honeymoon? Well you don’t need to search for the perfect location any longer, it’s here in Cape Town. Tintswalo Atlantic, sits right on the ocean, within the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, the only hotel within this prestigious reserve.
Lewis Smith Hotels are always vying for the best views in their location. The Cape Grace Hotel which is situated at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa can most certainly boast about theirs.
We were lucky enough to spend a night in one of their "Table Mountain Luxury Rooms". It is definitely luxurious, containing a fabulous bathroom with beautiful counter tops and comfortable bath and shower. The linens are excellent and the touches of colour combined with history throughout the hotel create not just a great ambience but also an experience you don’t normally associate with a hotel. However, the greatest asset that this room has is a breath-taking view. You are first met with the sight of bobbing yachts in the marina right next door to the Cape Grace, but if you take a look around, you also receive views of Lions Head and Table Mountain, iconic landmarks of Cape Town. Lewis Smith There is a perfect balance at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, not only in their wines, but also in their appreciation of the classic Cape Dutch farm house style, now mixed with modern artwork, sculptures and architecture.
The Cape Dutch influence is the first glimpse you receive of the farm after passing through the gate, driving down the long driveway through the expansive vineyards. A classic bright white structure leaps out behind a small dam, this national monument is the Manor House, proudly presented for the Owner of the farm. Lewis Smith Perched perfectly on the edge of a cliff, clings Cape View Clifton, a small, intimate, modern chic beach house. Spread over four floors the guesthouse can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests in total split between Junior Suites, Deluxe Suites, one 3 bedroom and one 2 bedroom apartments. Cape View presents a few things that differentiate it from any place we have experienced before. These include: the most incredible view for watching the sunset over the ocean, another is the focus on communal guest areas as well as the hotel is being extension of the owner’s house, which really helps portray the home away from home feeling! But, more on that later.
Lewis Smith La Clé Des Montagnes, “The Key To The Mountains” when translated from French is a name without hyperbole. For that is what you see when you open the door with the mystery key, a large old fashion key that nobody knew which door it opened, when the property was first obtained. After methodically testing many doors the key clicked in the lock, and through the frame exposed a picture of the spectacular Drakensberg Mountain range and hence the name La Clé Des Montagnes.
Lewis Smith [spasie] a ‘small space’, with not so small chefs and a long table presents a new underground twist on a Chef's Table, easily found on Church Street in Cape Town. A unique chef led experience with great food and great people.
Greg Zeleny, the man behind secretEATS is also the innovator of [spasie] and is partnered by Nicolas Charalambous, the former right hand of celebrity chef Peter Tempelhoff of The Greenhouse at The Cellars-Hohenort. Having launched the [spasie] late last year, they have already hosted a number of well-known chefs including the likes of: Craig Cormack, Sue-Anne Allen from Masterchef, Dylan Laity of Roundhouse, as well as the team from Ellerman House. We were lucky enough to be invited to join the Chef’s Table hosted by Aubergine’s own Harald Bresselschmidt. Lewis Smith Nestled in the foothills of Table Mountain, rising high above everyone in Oranjezicht, sits the luxurious and inspiring MannaBay. It’s evident as soon as you turn into the driveway of this boutique masterpiece that attention to detail was in abundance during the design. The décor both inside and out exhibits the grandeur of this establishment. The owner designed the interior of MannaBay, it’s one of his passionate hobbies, and it is truly stunning. The walls themselves are features of the décor, with different patterns and colours accenting different characters in each room, but combining to create unpretentious luxury. The more time that you spend examining the style, the more you begin to envy it and wish you could box it all up and take it home with you.
