“I’m coming to Cape Town but want to see as much of South Africa as possible during short our time there”. This is something that we often hear, you might think it’s impossible, but it’s not that hard. If you take a drive along the Garden Route from Cape Town, you’ll come across the winelands, long beautiful beaches, mountains, vast forests, whales breaching in the ocean, and you can even stop along the way for a quick Big 5 safari.
As summer is slowly coming to a close, we embrace the changes of the seasons and hopeful welcoming some much needed rain to the Western Cape very soon. But although things may be 'winding down' from our festive summer season, we still have lots of exciting things happening in and around the Mother city this April, so read on if you're like us and like to be kept in the loop ;)
I can still picture the scene, tucked in our hotel room, with the fire roaring and crackling whilst the rain pours down outside, an African rain storm is something that everyone should witness at least once.

On our road trip, we visited many places that both of us had never been before, but for me almost everywhere was a new experience. Sarah had spent family holidays in Knysna in the past and she has many happy memories there, now we had the opportunity to create new memories.
Going on safari, it’s special! There’s nothing else quite like it, looking at truly majestic animals living wild in their natural habitat. But they are also in danger from humans too due to poaching and other environmental factors. That’s why I love safari lodges like Dulini Leadwood lodge, because not only is it jaw-droppingly beautiful, they also care, deeply, for the well being of the animals that share their location with them.
